Description
A Remarkable Beaune Premier Cru
The Estate
Albert Morot is one of the historic estates of Beaune with over 200 years of history. Anchored on prestigious climates of the appellation, it has been cultivating its vineyards organically for 15 years. Its wines, of controlled elegance, combine subtle power with remarkable purity, highlighting the uniqueness of each terroir.
The Wine
Spanning an area of 1.27 hectares, this plot of Pinot Noir benefits from an ideal location in the middle of the slope, with a southeast exposure that optimizes sunlight. The soil, balanced between limestone, silt, and clay, provides the vines with an environment conducive to the expression of the terroir. Planted at a high density of 10,000 vines per hectare, it reflects a demanding viticultural know-how. The vines, planted between 1982 and 2023, testify to careful renewal and a preserved heritage to produce grapes of exceptional quality.
Vinification and Aging
The harvest, carried out exclusively by hand, is done with care in small 15 kg crates, ensuring the integrity of the bunches until the winery. A double sorting, in the vineyard and then on arrival at the winery, allows only the most qualitative berries to be kept. The vinification, traditional, is carried out in open vats with partially destemmed grapes and under the influence of naturally present indigenous yeasts. Each day, pump-overs are carried out. The aging lasts 14 to 18 months and takes place in French oak barrels.
