The property

Founded in 1731, Bouchard Père & Fils is one of the oldest houses in Burgundy. It benefits from an exceptional viticultural heritage, with plots located on the best climates of the Côte d'Or. Their ancestral know-how and their constant quest for quality allow them to produce wines of great finesse and remarkable complexity.

The vineyard

Patiently built up over the years, the vineyard of the Bouchard Père et Fils estate now extends over 130 hectares of vines. Bringing together prestigious appellations with exceptional plots, the Bouchard Père & Fils vineyard constitutes a unique viticultural heritage in Burgundy.

The wine

The vineyard of Beaune 1er Cru "Les Grèves" is located on the Côte de Beaune. Facing east/south-east, the soil is clay-limestone with a strong presence of gravel, which promotes good drainage. The total area of the appellation is 31.33 hectares, of which 3.48 hectares are in production for the estate.

Vinification and ageing

The harvest is manual and the grapes are carefully sorted. Fermentation takes place in small containers after total or partial destemming, followed by gentle pressing. The maceration lasts between 15 and 20 days depending on the profile of the vintage. Ageing takes place for 12 to 14 months in French oak barrels, with up to 25% new barrels.
