Description
2009 Haut-Medoc Cru Bourgeois, Bordeaux
Located on the Haut-Medoc appellation, Chateau Bernadotte gets its name from Bernadotte, Marshal of the Empire, former King of Sweden. His castle was built in 1860. The 2009 Chateau Bernadotte is a blend of 56% Merlot, 42% Cabernet Sauvignon, 2% Cabernet Franc.
The intense purple coloured wine develops black cherry, blackcurrant and charcoal aromas. Rich and supple on the fruit, the palate is spicy and offers a fleshy length enhanced by good tannins. On the palate, the 2009 Chateau Bernadotte remains fresh, supple and bold on finish. To this day, this really fine wine is probably the best produced by the property.
