Description
A fruity red wine from Pauillac
Château Haut-Batailley is a Grand Cru classified in 1855 from the appellation of Pauillac. The vineyard extends over 22 hectares. The grape varieties are 70% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Merlot and 5% Cabernet Franc. The soil is composed of deep gravel.
At the tasting, the Château Haut-Batailley 2000 is of a deep ruby colour with splendid shades of purple. On the nose one can detect fragrances of raspberries, minerals and tobacco. This wine is velvety in texture with plenty of tannins, but is also very fruity and slightly acidic.
