The estate
Château La Mondotte is a wine estate dating back to the 19th century. This relatively recent Saint-Émilion Premier Grand Cru Classé is managed by Stephan Von Neipperg. Belonging to a German family steeped in the world of viticulture for almost eight centuries, Stephan von Neipperg manages Château La Mondotte with passion and talent.
The vineyard
Château La Mondotte 2022 is a Saint-Émilion wine produced from a 4.5 hectare vineyard located to the east of the medieval town. The vines, which are an average of 60 years old, are planted on a mosaic of terroirs, with silty clay soils on a rocky substratum. The vineyard is run using certified organic methods.
Winemaking and ageing
Harvest from 3 to 23 September. Vinification in wooden vats. Extraction by pneumatic punching down. Vatting for 35 days. Aged on fine lees in barrels (40% new).
Blend
Château La Mondotte 2022 is a blend of Merlot (80%) and Cabernet Franc (20%).
