Description
An exceptional red wine from Pomerol
The property
The vineyard of Château La Pointe extends over 22 hectares, planted on a mosaic of soils that give the wines of the property a unique and delicate style. Accompanied by Hubert de Boüard de Laforest, co-owner of Château Angélus, the property's team has been carrying out significant work since 2008 to evolve their cultivation practices in order to best express the full potential of this Pomerol appellation reference.
The vineyard
Château La Pointe is a red wine produced in the Pomerol appellation. The producing vineyard extends over a total area of 23 hectares, enjoying a terroir composed mainly of clay-gravel soils.
The vintage
This year, the conditions were incredible, with rains miraculously stopping just before flowering, which was perfect and abundant. The summer drought allowed the grapes that make up the first wine to have a great tannic potential, while the cool nights were able to maintain their acidity and perfect aromatic expression.
Blend
83% Merlot and 17% Cabernet Franc.
