Description
A superbly balanced Saint-Estèphe red wine
Château Lafon-Rochet is a 4ème cru classé produced in the Saint-Estèphe appellation. This red wine benefits from a vineyard that extends over a total area of 45 hectares. Aged 36 years on average, the vines are planted on deep gravel and gravel on clay. The ageing of the wine is carried out for 16 to 18 months on average in French oak barrels (of which 50% are new barrels). The 2010 vintage blends 66% Cabernet Sauvignon, 31% Merlot and 3% Petit Verdot.
At tasting, the Château Lafon-Rochet 2010 reveals a pleasant, fresh and intense nose. It is fine and dynamic. The wine reveals a wonderful balance between alcohol, acidity and enveloping tannins. With a very good ageing potential, this wine can be consumed in the next 20 years (tasted in 2015 by the estate).
