Description

A great red wine from Saint-Julien by Château Talbot

The property

4th Cru Classé of Saint-Julien, the Château Talbot is one of the emblematic references of the Médoc. Acquired by Désiré Cordier in 1918, Château Talbot is today managed by Nancy Bignon-Cordier and her husband, Jean-Paul Bignon.

The vineyard

The vineyard of Château Talbot is a real treasure as it extends over 110 hectares of vines in one piece, in the heart of the Saint-Julien appellation. These vines, averaging 45 years old, enjoy an ideal location as they are situated on the edge of the Gironde estuary and rest on Médoc alluvial gravel mounds.

Vinification and ageing

Manual harvest. Successive manual and optical sorting. Vinification in wooden vats. Ageing for 15 months in barrels, 60% of which are new.

Blend

This Château Talbot 2019 is the result of a blend of cabernet sauvignon (69%), merlot (26%) and petit verdot (5%).
