Tasting
Nose
The nose reveals a marked intensity, dominated by aromas of spices, blackberry and fig, all enhanced by sweet spices from a perfectly integrated oakiness.
Palate
On the palate, the wine is round, offering a beautiful volume and a concentration of ripe fruits. The tannins are textured, providing a beautiful structure, while the finish stretches in length, leaving a persistent and harmonious impression.
A full-bodied Chilean red wine with a beautiful aromatic intensity
The property
Located in the beautiful Colchaga Valley, Clos Apalta has become one of the most famous estates in Chile. The microclimate of Clos Apalta combined with preserved know-how is thus the keystone of the birth of exceptional artisan wines.
The vineyard
On an exceptional terroir, the vineyard extends over 60 hectares of vines, some of which are over 80 years old.
The wine
The latest addition to the estate, Prelude is a wine from Colchagua Valley which, made with the same rigour as Clos Apalta and Petit Clos, seduces with its fruity structure.
Vinification and ageing
Macération of 5 to 6 weeks accompanied by manual stirring. Fermentation exclusively in 75hL French oak vats. Malolactic fermentation in new barrels. Ageing for 18 months in French oak barrels (of which 17% are new and 83% are second wines). Neither fining nor filtration.

Carmenère (53%)
Cabernet sauvignon (36%)
Merlot (7%)
Petit verdot (4%).
