Description
The finesse and liveliness of a Rhône Valley red wine
The property
Located in the Rhône Valley, the Domaine Combier pays rigorous attention to its vineyard with total respect for the terroir. As early as 1969, Maurice Combier, a visionary, thus converted his vineyard to Organic Agriculture.
Laurent Combier, his son, along with his wife took over the estate in 1990 with the ambition to produce wines at the top of the Crozes-Hermitage appellation and authentically reflecting the expression of this exceptional terroir.
The vineyard
Created in 2010, the Crozes-Hermitage Cap Nord cuvée from Domaine Combier comes from a selection of the most beautiful plots located in the north of the appellation. The vines, averaging 45 years of age, are located between 300 and 450 meters in altitude and planted on a soil composed of loess, a finely sandy decomposed granite.
Vinification and aging
The harvest is manual with a selective sorting. The wine is aged for 12 months in 3 to 5 year old barrels and then ages for an additional 12 months in bottles.
Blend
The Crozes-Hermitage Cap Nord 2022 from Domaine Combier is a 100% syrah.
