The property

Owned by the Bernard family since 1983, the magnificent Domaine de Chevalier is at the top of the greatest Crus Classés of Bordeaux. The estate is located in the heart of the Pessac-Léognan appellation, in a green setting south of Bordeaux.

The vineyard

Domaine de Chevalier oversees a rare vineyard with 60 hectares of red vines. The vineyard is composed of vines averaging 35 years old and is located on a gravelly terroir with clay-gravel subsoils characteristic of Pessac-Léognan.

The vintage

The 2019 vintage promises great potential thanks to the exceptional conditions of this year.

Vinification and aging

Manual harvest in crates from September 23 to October 13, sorting in the vineyard then on table with optical sorting. Alcoholic fermentation in thermo-regulated vats. Manual punching down. Maceration for 3 weeks then aging in barrels for 18 months, including 4 months on lees.

Blend

Cabernet sauvignon (65%), merlot (30%), petit verdot (5%).
