A Rhône wine of remarkable finesse
The property
Among the emblematic figures of the Northern Rhône Valley, the Domaine Jean-Michel Gerin stands out as one of the most fervent ambassadors of Côte-Rôtie. Heir to a lineage of winemakers established for six generations, Jean-Michel Gerin founded his own estate in 1983, before reviving the family estate under his name. Thanks to his exemplary dedication and universally recognized talent, he has managed to elevate his estate to a global reference.
The vineyard
Located in the heart of the prestigious Côte-Rôtie vineyard, in the charming village of Ampuis, this exceptional terroir is 30 km south of Lyon, marking the northern limit of the Rhône Valley. Benefiting from a dual climatic influence, Mediterranean and continental, it produces wines of remarkable balance, combining power, structured tannins, silkiness and elegance.
Vinification and aging
This wine has benefited from a one-year aging, divided between 20% new demi-muids and 80% demi-muids that have been used for 1 or 3 wines.
Grape variety
