A lively and aromatic Corton Grand Cru red wine

The estate

Founded in 1797, the Louis Latour house is today represented by the 11th generation with Louis-Fabrice Latour at its head. Wine merchant and producer, the Louis Latour house owns the largest estate of Grands Crus in Burgundy.

The vineyard

It was in 1891 that the Latour family acquired the château located within the Corton route, until then owned by the Grancey. Produced only in exceptional years, this Château Corton Grancey Grand Cru by Louis Latour is made from grapes from five climates (Bressandes, Perrières, Grèves, Clos du Roi and Chaumes). Averaging 40 years old, these vineyards are planted on soils composed of marl and limestone.

Vinification and ageing

Once the manual harvest is carried out, fermentation is carried out traditionally in open vats with 100% malolactic fermentation. The ageing of 10 to 12 months is carried out in French oak barrels (including 35% new barrels) from the Louis Latour cooperage. Following this parcel ageing, only the best barrels enter the blend of this great Corton wine.

Blend

Pinot Noir (100%).
