Description
The generosity and roundness of a red wine from Burgundy
The estate
Founded in 1797, the House of Louis Latour is today represented by the 11th generation with Louis-Fabrice Latour at its head. A wine merchant and grower, the House of Louis Latour owns the largest domain of Grand Crus in Burgundy.
The vineyard
"Les Arvelets" is a Pommard wine 1er cru distinguished by the location of its vineyard at the bottom of a valley, on a south-facing slope at 270 meters above sea level. This clay-limestone terroir, rich and deep, gives birth to red wines of beautiful opulence, reflecting the reputation of the appellation. The vines, averaging 30 years old, rest on clay-limestone soils.
Vinification and aging
Once the manual harvest is done, fermentation is carried out traditionally in open vats with 100% malolactic fermentation. The aging of 10 to 12 months is carried out in French oak barrels (35% new) from the cooperage of the House of Louis Latour.
Blend
Pinot noir (100%).
