A structured and beautifully balanced Red wine from Burgundy

The estate

Established in Puligny-Montrachet since 1635, the Olivier Leflaive estate has perpetuated the tradition of great Burgundy wines by offering one of the most beautiful expressions of Chardonnay in the world. At the head of a must-see estate in Burgundy, Olivier Leflaive has established himself as an emblematic figure of the Côte de Beaune. Patiently built up, Olivier Leflaive's vineyard now extends over 17 hectares of vines located on the greatest terroirs of Burgundy.

The vineyard

This "Clos du Roi" 2022 is a Corton Grand Cru wine made from a 10.74 ha plot located in Aloxe Corton. Averaging 40 years old, the vines are situated between 270 and 320 metres above sea level on limestone and ferruginous soils, giving a lively, structured and wild touch.

The vintage

The year 2022 is marked by higher than average seasonal temperatures, episodes of frost in early April and a particularly sunny summer.

Vinification and ageing

Hand harvesting before vinification in whole bunches. Alcoholic fermentation in open vat with a 16-day maceration. Ageing for 16 months (including 4 months in mass) in barrels (25% new).

Blend

Pinot Noir (100%).
