The structure and precision of a white Burgundy wine

The estate

Established in Puligny-Montrachet since 1635, the Olivier Leflaive estate has perpetuated the tradition of great Burgundy wines by offering one of the finest expressions of Chardonnay in the world. At the helm of a must-visit estate in Burgundy, Olivier Leflaive has established himself as an emblematic figure of the Côte de Beaune. Patiently built up, Olivier Leflaive's vineyard now extends over 17 hectares of vines located on the greatest terroirs of Burgundy.

The vineyard

This Montrachet Grand Cru 2022 from Olivier Leflaive is made from an 8-hectare vineyard, located in the commune of Puligny, where the vines, averaging 45 years old, rest on clay-limestone soils.

The vintage

The year 2022 is marked by higher than average seasonal temperatures, episodes of frost in early April and a particularly sunny summer.

Vinification and ageing

Manual harvest followed by pressing. Vinification in whole harvest. Static settling of 24h before alcoholic and malolactic fermentation in oak barrels. Ageing for 18 months (including 6 months en masse) in barrels (25% of which are new).

Blend

Chardonnay (100%).
