Description
The freshness and concentration of a limited edition port by Taylor's
The estate
Founded by Job Bearsley in 1692, Taylor's is one of the oldest and well-respected Port houses. It is a symbol of the ancestral know-how that has been passed down from one generation to another. Since its creation over three centuries ago, Taylor's has never left the family fold and has remained independently-owned. With vineyards located in the Douro Valley, this icon Portuguese winemaking reference successfully carries out the entire process of making its Port wines, from the vineyard to the cellar. Infamous for its exceptional wines, the estate has built a solid reputation for its Vintage Ports.
The vineyard
Exclusively comprising over 80-year-old Port wines, the new 'Very Very Old' (VVO) category was launched in 2022 by the Douro and Port Wine Institute.
Produced in very limited quantities and made from very old reserves, some of which have aged in casks prior to the Second World War, this Very Very Old Port by the renowned Taylor's winery is the latest addition to a series of rare wines.
This exceptional Vintage Port magnifies the ancestral know-how of the cellar masters and blenders whose passion and rigour have shaped the House's excellent reputation over the decades.

Taylor's Very Very Old Port: Characteristics and tasting tips
The tasting
Colour
A beautiful brown colour with amber hues and straw gold highlights.
Nose
The intense nose exudes a delicate complexity. Butterscotch, dried figs, freshly ground coffee...all these fragrances blend harmoniously with delicious notes of marzipan, plum clafoutis or orange and apricot peel. With aeration, vanilla, woody (cedar) and spicy (cinnamon) notes emerge.
Palate
The aerial and well-balanced palate reveals an aromatic palette with a rare power and richness.
Cellaring
This exceptional champagne can be relished now. It is not necessary to decant this Vintage Port before enjoying it.
Service
For an optimal tasting experience, serve between 12ºC and 16ºC. Due to its richness and structure, this Port can be consumed within two months of opening the bottle without losing its freshness and aromatic palette.
Food and wine pairing
This Duriense wine will complement figs, almonds and caramel. A crème brûlée or wild strawberries will also pair with this fine Port.
