The estate

For over 250 years, the Weingut Dönnhoff has been overseeing a unique terroir of vertiginous slopes on the banks of the Nahe. Helmut Dönnhoff crafts, vintage after vintage, great German wines from a mosaic of terroirs, expressing the complexity, purity and multiple nuances of riesling, pinot blanc and pinot gris.

The vineyard

With an area of 25 hectares, the terroir of Weingut Dönnhoff is unique in its multiplicity of soils and exposures, offering ideal conditions for the grapes to reach optimal maturity. Subject to rigorous care, the vines aged 20 to 70 years produce low yields, giving birth to high-quality German wines.

The wine

Classified as VDP Grosse Lage, this sweet wine (Goldkapsel) is a Nahe wine from a steep, south-facing vineyard. With a maximum age of 70 years, the vines are planted on mineral-rich soils made up of grey-black slate and volcanic elements. This terroir is one of the most exceptional in the region.
