Barbera d'Asti takes its name from its grape variety and its town of origin. This great red wine is produced from the Barbera grape, an indigenous variety from around the town of Asti. Long considered a table wine, Barbera d'Asti has undergone a renaissance. Today, the vintages compete with the greatest wines of Piedmont.

Barbera d'Asti is distinguished by its fruity character, and is very pleasant to drink when young.
