A Chablis Village Domaine Bernard Defaix True to the Minerality of the Chablis Region
The Estate
Founded in 1959 by Bernard Defaix in Milly, in the heart of the Chablis region in Burgundy, Domaine Bernard Defaix has grown steadily and today extends across a variety of terroirs in Petit Chablis, Chablis and Chablis Premier Cru. Run by the Defaix family, the estate is distinguished by its commitment to organic and later biodynamic farming, and by its showcasing of terroirs on the left bank of Chablis.
The Vineyard
This Chablis Village comes from vines located in the heart of the Chablis vineyard, planted with Chardonnay on clay-limestone soils typical of the Kimmeridgian. Farmed according to organic and biodynamic principles, these plots are carefully tended in order to preserve soil life and the mineral expression specific to the Chablis appellation.
Winemaking and Ageing
The Chablis Village Domaine Bernard Defaix 2025 is vinified and aged in a way that preserves the freshness of the fruit and the mineral typicity of the appellation, without seeking a pronounced oaky character.
Grape Variety
This wine is made from 100% Chardonnay.
