Description
Characteristics and tasting advice for Telmont's Vinothèque 2013
Tasting
Nose
Intense, the nose reveals fragrances of crushed raspberry, Timur pepper and dried hay.
Palate
The palate is seduced by the richness of its aromatic palette. Herbaceous and lemony aromas supported by a delicate salinity stretch harmoniously to a finish with persistent notes of rose petal.
The vivacity and refinement of a great vintage champagne
The property
Founded in 1912 by the Lhôpital family, the Champagne Telmont House has seen generations of visionaries passionate about the Champagne terroirs. In 2020, the French group Rémy Cointreau joined the Telmont adventure, guided by a common ambition for the preservation of organic farming terroirs and the consolidation of a large-scale eco-responsible project. It is also this innovative approach that led Leonardo DiCaprio to join the Telmont House as a shareholder. Meanwhile, Bertrand Lhôpital remains cellar master and vineyard manager, thus guaranteeing the quality of a more than century-old family know-how.
The vineyard
The Telmont House extends over 24.5 hectares in Damery, near Épernay in Champagne. Since 2017, the Telmont House has been certified Organic Agriculture for part of its plots. In 2022, half of the vineyard is managed organically.
Vinification and aging
Vinothèque follows the typical Champagne vinification process. Vinification in oak cask and in vat. The draw was made in 2014, then the champagne aged for 8 years before being disgorged in 2022. No malolactic fermentation was carried out.
This Extra Brut champagne is dosed at 2.5 g/liter.
Blend
This vintage champagne 2013 is the result of a blend of pinot meunier (43%), pinot noir (31%) and chardonnay (26%).
