The property
Owned by the Raynaud-Lebreton family and with origins dating back to 1477, the Château La Fleur de Gay is located on the medieval road from Saint-Émilion to Guitres. The property is located on what was the historic village of Pomerol, the hamlet of Pignon, north of the appellation.
The vineyard
The vineyard of Château La Fleur de Gay extends over 2 hectares of vines and benefits from a very large typical terroir of Pomerol. The vines are located on 3 plots of the high terrace of the appellation, with soils composed according to the terroirs of pure Lafleur clay, Günzian gravels on Gay clay and high granulometry gravels on Groupey clay.
Vinification and aging
Manual harvest. The aging is carried out in barrels (42% new, 58% of one wine).
Blend
Merlot (88.5 %)
Cabernet franc (11.5 %).
