A fresh and balanced Argentinian red wine
The property
El Enemigo was born from the common desire of Adrianna Catena and Alejandro Vigil, chief winemaker of the famous Bodega Catena Zapata since 2002, to produce great wines in the heart of the Mendoza region. Thus, in 2007, these two enthusiasts created El Enemigo, literally "the enemy", as well as the Bodega Aleanna winery. Success was not long in coming and very quickly, the estate gained worldwide recognition, particularly thanks to its Gran Enemigo Gualtallary cabernet franc.
The vineyard
Located near the Andes in Argentina, El Enemigo overlooks a vineyard rising from 930 to 1470 meters above sea level, where a diversity of limestone, rocky and clay soils constitute exceptional terroirs for viticulture.
Vinification and ageing
This wine is vinified under the influence of indigenous yeasts with 30 days of maceration. The wine is then aged for 15 months in several containers (foudre, vat...).
Blend
Malbec (90%)
Cabernet franc (10%).
