A great Vintage Port combining elegance and creaminess
The property
Founded in 1820 and then acquired in 1970 by the Symington family, the W&J Graham’s Port House is today the only independent British Port House. If Graham’s is one of the first houses to acquire its own vineyards in the Douro Valley, within the Duriense region in the northwest of Portugal, it also reflects its pioneering spirit through a constant search for perfection and modernisation of viticulture and winemaking methods.
Graham’s produces Port wines recognised beyond borders for their finesse, aromatic richness and concentration.
The wine
This Single Harvest Tawny Port 1940 from Graham's is a vibrant tribute to the Symington family's art of producing very high quality cuvées, reflecting the expression of illustrious Portuguese terroirs.
Vinification and ageing
This exceptional Vintage Port has benefited from 80 years of ageing in oak barrels.
