Description

Characteristics and tasting advice for the 2022 Amy's cuvée from Moss Wood

Tasting

Nose
The nose reveals aromas of chocolate, cherry, blueberry, blackberry, and rose, with touches of cedar and oak.

Palate
On the palate, blueberries and currants dominate, supported by firm tannins. The linear acidity brilliantly combines with the oak texture, bringing brightness and vivacity.

The elegance and richness of an exceptional Australian wine

The property

Founded in 1969, Moss Wood is the second oldest estate in Margaret River. Passionately managed by Clare and Keith Mugford, this couple produces wines renowned for their elegance and remarkable longevity. Due to its similarities with Bordeaux terroirs, the region has naturally gravitated towards the emblematic Bordeaux grape varieties and chardonnay, praised by the greatest critics.

The vineyard

Located in Western Australia, Margaret River benefits from a unique terroir. Its temperate maritime climate, combined with gravelly soils dating back more than 1.6 billion years, allows the production of wines with great freshness, marked acidity, pronounced minerality and exceptional complexity.

Vinification and ageing

The grapes of each variety are harvested and vinified separately, then the wine is aged for 18 months in 225-litre French oak barrels.

Blend

Cabernet sauvignon (63%)
Merlot (23%)
Malbec (7%)
Petit verdot (7%)
