A fresh and intense Vintage Port from Duriense
The estate
Driven by the ambition to produce great Portuguese wines, Ramos Pinto, a house founded in 1880 by Adriano Ramos Pinto, has implemented a demanding quality strategy from the vineyard to the cellars since its inception.
The vineyard
To do this, the estate relies on an exceptional terroir by investing in the best vineyards of the Douro Valley, located in the Duriense region in north-west Portugal. While each has its own characteristics, all contribute to the definition of the elegant, fruity and complex style of Ramos Pinto.
The vintage
The year 2017 is characterised by particularly dry conditions promoting rare precocity throughout the vegetative cycle. Despite low yields, this climatology gives birth to a Vintage Port of beautiful concentration.
Vinification and ageing
Fermentation for 4 to 5 days in granite presses, after intense foot treading and without destemming.
Blend
Touriga nacional (70%)
Touriga franca (15%)
Sousão (10%)
Blends of grape varieties from old vineyards (5%).
