Description

Characteristics and tasting advice for Santa Rita's Triple C 2021

Tasting

Throughout the tasting, this vintage seduces with its tannic structure, its concentration and its delicious fruity aromas supported by a beautiful balance.

An intense and concentrated Chilean wine from Maipo Valley

The property

Santa Rita, located in the wine-growing area of Maipo Alto, is an emblematic property deeply rooted in Chilean wine heritage. Nestled at the foot of the Andes, this region enjoys an exceptional geographical location and a Mediterranean climate that shapes the character of its wines. The history of the estate is marked by passion, know-how and a deep respect for nature and the vine.

The vineyard

The Triple C 2021 cuvée from Santa Rita is a wine from Maipo Valley made from a selection of vineyards benefiting from a climate and a mosaic of rare soils, giving birth to remarkable wines of freshness, elegance and complexity.

Located in the Alto Jahuel region, the cabernet sauvignon and cabernet franc are planted on colluvial loamy-sandy-clay soils ensuring excellent drainage.

Located on a southern slope of the Apalta foothills and aged 70 years, the carmenère is planted on granitic soils ensuring optimal rainwater drainage.

The vintage

An historically rainy winter precedes a mild spring ensuring homogeneous flowering and fruit set.

Vinification and ageing

Parcel harvests according to maturity levels, just like vinification. Fermentation carried out with indigenous yeasts. Addition of 5% whole bunches during the carmenère fermentation. Post-fermentation maceration. Blend made after 6 months of ageing in barrels, before a further 12 months of ageing in the same French oak barrels (50% new, 50% of one wine). Then, the wine is aged for 3 months in stainless steel tanks before bottling.

Blend

Cabernet sauvignon (50%)
Cabernet franc (42%)
Carménère (8%).
