Colour
The pale gold hue reveals a fine and elegant effervescence.

Nose
The first nose, rich and indulgent, unveils aromas of brioche, almond, mango, guava and bergamot. Touches of lilac precede spicy notes of honey, black tea, vanilla, white pepper, incense and smoke.

Palate
In the mouth, the indulgence becomes juicier and more tangy, with citrus fruits blossoming in a silky texture. The finish, saline and mineral, offers remarkable, almost endless length.

Cellaring

This vintage can be kept in cellars well beyond 2044, revealing its full complexity over time.

The property

Rare Champagne is a bold house, producing champagnes in limited quantities only in years marked by extraordinary climatic conditions. For over 40 years, it has declared only 14 vintages, each one being a unique expression of nature and the Cellar Master's expertise. The latter selects terroirs for their expressiveness, breaking conventions with chardonnays from the Montagne de Reims and pinot noirs with unmatched velvety texture.

The vintage

The 2012 vintage began with contrasting weather conditions, marked by winter frosts, spring rains and even hailstorms. However, from mid-July, the weather softened, giving way to a warm and dry period, ideal for grape maturation. The harvest was thus marked by low yields, but with exceptional quality.

Blend

This champagne is composed of chardonnay and pinot noir, in judiciously balanced proportions to offer both freshness, intensity and elegance.
