Description
A precise and lively Margaux wine
The property
This vineyard, named "Hostein" in the 18th century, was already one of the most beautiful labels in the Médoc at that time. At the helm of the Château Brane-Cantenac since 1992, Henri Lurton passionately perpetuates the viticultural adventure begun by his ancestors, combining tradition with modern infrastructure designed to enhance the identity of the wines from this exceptional terroir of the Margaux appellation.
The vineyard
Château Brane-Cantenac is a Margaux wine from a vineyard whose location within the Brane plateau terroir contributes to the elegant and aromatic signature of the property's wines. The Grand Vin is made from plots of old vines located on the 4th terrace with the most clayey gravels, within a historic terroir covering an area of about 45 hectares.
Vinification and aging
Vinification in wooden vats before aging for 18 months in barrels (of which 70% are new).
Blend
Cabernet sauvignon (77%), merlot (21%) and cabernet franc (2%).
