The estate

The Dom Pérignon Champagne House owes its name to the famous monk and procurator of the Abbey of Hautvillers in 1668, Pierre Pérignon, known as Dom Pérignon. According to legend, Pierre Pérignon discovered what we now call the champagne method. Dom Pérignon is a luminous champagne house that draws inspiration directly from the philosophy of its founder, which lies in the pursuit of the ultimate perfection of champagne wine.

The vineyard

Dom Pérignon cultivates vines composed of two main grape varieties of Champagne, namely chardonnay and pinot noir. Its classic champagnes or in rosé champagne version are renowned for being born on absolutely exceptional terroirs.

The wine

Dom Pérignon Rosé captures the red of pinot noir in its original brilliance and captures its power. Tamed over nearly twelve years of slow and controlled transformation in the cellar, Dom Pérignon Rosé reveals itself to be refined, clear and dark.
The creative dialogue begun in 2021 between Dom Pérignon and Lady Gaga, an artist in constant reinvention, continues. For the end of 2022, Lady Gaga gives her vision of Dom Pérignon Rosé by creating this time an innovative limited edition box for the Dom Pérignon Rosé Vintage 2008.

The vintage

A gray and veiled sky dominates the 2008 wine year, so unique in a solar decade with insolent generosity. Spring and summer are marked by the same deficit of light and temperatures. It is September that, belatedly and miraculously, makes the vintage. Just as the harvest begins (on September 15), the conditions are finally perfect: full sun and sustained north / north-east winds. To take advantage of such a turnaround, the picking is very spread out. Maturity reveals itself beyond all expectations in an unprecedented, high-perched balance. The health status is impeccable.

Blend

This vintage champagne 2008 is the result of a blend of pinot noir and chardonnay.

Tasting

Nose
The bouquet opens instantly on raspberry and wild strawberry. Powdery notes of iris and violet quickly mingle with the fruit and settle in. On breathing, we finally see greener nuances appear, closer to privet, angelica and camphor leaf.

Palate
The first sensations are tactile, fleshy and silky. They unfold gradually and then become firmer. The acidic structure, signature of the vintage, wraps itself in the structure of the pinot to reveal the heart of the wine. The finish asserts itself and persists in a scent of peony and white pepper.
