Colour
A deep red colour adorned with ruby reflections.

Nose
Complex, the nose exhales fruity fragrances (blackberry, blood plum), spicy (star anise, clove, fennel, cinnamon, black pepper), but also bay leaf and flowering herbs as the tasting progresses.

Palate
Sumptuous, complex and powerful, the palate seduces with its fruity and spicy structure, its freshness, its velvety tannins and its persistent finish.

Keeping

This Australian red wine can be kept in cellars until around 2052.

The property

Henschke is one of Australia's iconic estates, located in the Barossa Valley. Founded in 1868, the estate has remained in the Henschke family for several generations, perpetuating a high-quality winemaking know-how. Famous for its Rhone Valley-inspired blend wines, Henschke stands out for its respect for biodiversity and sustainable viticulture.

The vineyard

Hill of Grace 2018 is a pure and refined expression of the great Australian terroirs of Eden Valley.

Vinification and ageing

18 months ageing in oak barrels (of which 20% are new) 83% from France and 17% from the United States.

Blend

Syrah (100%) from pre-phylloxera vines imported from Europe in the mid-1800s and grown in the Hill of Grace vineyard.
