Description

The freshness and elegance of a red wine from Patagonia

The property

Son of the famous Argentine oenologist Jorge Riccitelli, Matias Riccitelli founded the eponymous estate in 2009. Located in the province of Mendoza, this estate oversees a 20-hectare vineyard spread over three unique terroirs at the foot of the Andes.

Matias Riccitelli passionately crafts Argentine wines whose refinement and aromatic richness are recognized beyond borders.

The vineyard

This cuvée from Matias Riccitelli is a wine from Patagonia made from old vines located in the Allen wine region, in the province of Rio Negro. Averaging over sixty years old, the vines are planted at an altitude ranging from 435 to 500 meters on a limestone soil composed mainly of alluvium and silt.

Vinification and aging

Manual harvest followed by partial destemming. Gravity-fed into small oak vats for fermentation with indigenous yeasts. Long maceration accompanied by slow and progressive extraction. Aging for several months in barrels of different sizes.

Blend

Trousseau (100%)
This grape variety from Jura is called "bastardo" in Argentina.
