The estate

The Domaine de la Vougeraie was established in 1999 with the ambition to bring together, under one domain, all the Premiers Crus, Grands Crus and Monopoles gradually acquired by the Boisset family, wine merchants, since 1964. Advocating a viticulture that listens to its vineyard, the Domaine de la Vougeraie gives birth to cuvées which, by their precision, their purity, their elegance and their aromatic richness, are recognised as prestigious Burgundy wines. The Domaine de la Vougeraie oversees a terroir of 34 hectares of vines spread over 67 plots.

The vineyard

The Vougeot Village "Clos du Prieuré Blanc" Monopole 2022 from the Domaine de la Vougeraie refers to the priory which was the property of the Benedictine monks of the Parisian abbey of Saint-Germain-des-Prés from the 11th century.

This Vougeot wine is made from grapes from a 0.8258 hectare vineyard facing east. Surrounded by high walls, this plot planted on a limestone soil rich in Arron pebbles and pure silts owes its uniqueness to its early maturity.

Vinification and ageing

Following the harvest, the grapes undergo pneumatic pressing in whole bunches, followed by a 24-hour settling. If the fermentation begins in a stainless steel tank, it ends in an oak barrel. Ageing for 14 months in barrels (of which 20% are new) then two months in a stainless steel tank. Stirring once a month during the waxing moon until December. Light filtration before bottling.
